Happy Monday, LaPerche Families,

Tomorrow, we kick off RICAS ELA (English Language Arts) testing for 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade.  The students are well prepared and are encouraged to take their time and do their best.  

Please send your child to school with a healthy snack to eat during testing.  The school will provide mints and gum.  Kids can bring their own sugarless gum but leave other candy at home.  Thank you. 

Support LaPerche Families

Many people have reached out to see how they can support other LaPerche Families.  THANK YOU!  We all struggle at different times and with different things, and it is wonderful to see so many people willing to help out.

You can donate to the PTA to cover hardships (LEAP classes, field trips, gift cards, etc..). If interested, you can make a check out to LaPerche PTA and send it to school with your child. Just mark it as hardships. 

You can also donate gift cards that we distribute to families.  Walmart, Amazon, and Target tend to go the farthest for families. Local restaurants would be a great idea as well.  If you would like to donate gift cards, please send them to the office.

Get Your Lawn Pawed by Another LaPerche Family

LaPerche families can show their school spirit and help a LaPerche family by having their lawns decorated with these fun signs featuring the paws from our school mascot Leo the Leopard.

The PAWing takes place after dark so your family will wake up to find these fun paws scattered on your front yard. What a great way to show your support! The signs will remain on your lawn for the duration of the day, and you will “PAW” the next family on the list that night. This information will be provided to you via email

If you would like to participate, please complete this online form. All donations will be given to the Smithfield Education Foundation. If writing a check, please make it payable to R.C. LaPerche PTA and send it to the office.

Tuesday, April 7, 2026-LaPerche PTA and Laura’s Fundraiser

Take a night off from cooking and support the LaPerche PTA! Enjoy a delicious meal at Laura's on Tuesday, April 7 and 20% of your bill will be donated back to the LaPerche PTA! Valid on dine in or take out. You must present this flyer! Feel free to hand out the flyer to family and friends and as long as they present the flyer, we will receive the donation. As always, we truly appreciate your support! All students received a paper copy of the flyer. 

Thursday, April 16, 2026 from 5:00 PM-7:00 PM-Teaching and Learning Night-I’ve got the POWer to WRITE!

On Teaching and Learning night, students are encouraged to bring their families to LaPerche to showcase their writing skills.  Families will visit classrooms, review student work, and learn more about SRSD (Self-Regulated Strategies Development), which is our approach to teaching writing.

Also, that evening, we will share a cultural potluck to celebrate diversity, build community, and strengthen bonds through the universal language of food. Please think about a dish that represents your heritage that you would like to share with other LaPerche families. By sharing dishes that represent your heritage, you not only enjoy new flavors but also learn about the stories, history, and traditions of others.
