Updates and Reminders from LaPerche:

  • Tomorrow evening, Monday, April 1, the Smithfield Town Council and School Committee have a joint work session at 5:30.  Please visit the district newsletter for April to read all about the school district’s budget proposal and consider joining us tomorrow at Town Hall to have your voice heard.

  • Would you like to order a LaPerche yearbook this year? Please visit this site to order a yearbook!

  • There has been a change for the secondary choice on this week’s lunch menu.  Instead of Cheesy Bread sticks, it will be Chicken Nuggets.

  • LaPerche is turning 50 this year and we are celebrating on Thursday, April 11 from 5:30-7:30.  Please mark your calendars and plan to join us for an exciting evening! This is an event for students and their families.

  • Last call for the Variety Show sign ups!  Please visit this link for all the details and to register!

  • Do you plan to volunteer at LaPerche during the spring?  Join your child on a field trip? If so, you need to have a current BCI on file with the Smithfield police.  BCI information can be found here and needs to be completed each year.  You also need to complete volunteer training with Mrs. Dorsey once during your child’s career at LaPerche. Our next volunteer training is scheduled for Wednesday, April 10 at 8:15 and will last approximately 15 minutes.

  • Did you attend our Spring Music Show?  Students in grades K-5 performed and did an amazing job!  Thank you to our wonderful music teacher, Mrs. Barrette, for working tirelessly to get the students performance ready! All of the videos from the music show can be found on the LaPerche PTA site under videos.  Thank you to Joanna Stepka for recording and posting them!

  • RICAS testing for 3-5 graders begins on Wednesday.  An email was sent to those families earlier today.

  • Please visit this link for a newsletter from our new school nurse teacher, Robin Orticerio.

  • Our next PTA meeting is Tuesday, April 2 at 6:30 in the LaPerche library followed by a 5th grade committee meeting at 7:30. Hope to see you there!
