School Volunteer BCI

Individuals who wish to volunteer in the Smithfield Public Schools must have a current State of RI criminal investigation on file with the Smithfield School Department.

Smithfield Residents

The Smithfield Police Department has updated their procedure for obtaining a BCI check for all volunteers who reside in the town of Smithfield. The Authorization for Release of Information Form is available at each school and the Smithfield Police Department website (http://www.smithfieldpd.com).

Non-Smithfield Residents

Non-Smithfield Residents must inquire at the police station in the town they reside in, OR go to the RI Attorney General's Office in Providence. Non-Smithfield Residents MUST to bring in the original BCI results to the Superintendent's office at 49 Farnum Pike, Smithfield, RI 02917.
