The school hours for 2020-2021 are from 8:45 a.m. to 3:20 p.m.

Arrival Procedures

LaPerche students may be dropped at school starting at 8:45 am. When you arrive, please KEEP YOUR CHILDREN IN THE CAR until an adult approaches. When the adult approaches, students should get out of the car with their completed ticket in hand. Please take your child's temperature each day before bringing them to school. Please write your child's temperature on the ticket each day. Students will then proceed directly into their classrooms. If a student has a temperature that is 100 or above, the student should stay home.

Students who are walking to school can stand with their family members socially distanced from other families until an adult approaches to collect tickets.

This year, we have a new location for bus arrival and departure. Bus drop off and pick up will take place in the back of the building. The same process as described above will occur with students as they exit the bus.

Dismissal Procedures

The dismissal bell rings at 3:20. At that time, car riders and walkers will be dismissed.

Families will still park in the long LaPerche driveway (access the driveway on Ridge Road--it is one way only) and line up at the doors to pick up their children. Families must be masked and stand 6 feet from each other. Cars may be parked on the flag pole side of the driveway only. Please do not wait for a spot to open and block the traffic behind you. You may have to take a few laps around until you find a spot to park. Just put on a great song, sing along and relax. A spot will open up quickly after dismissal starts.

As always, we ask everyone to DRIVE SLOWLY in the driveway! Let's work together to keep everyone safe.

Students who are in grades K-2 will be dismissed out Door #2 which is our traditional walker door.

Students in grade 3-5 will be dismissed out Door #1. If your 3-5 grader has a sibling in K-2, the family group will line up together at door # 2 and you will pick up there.

Inside the building, there are arrows on the floor that are six feet apart from each other. During dismissal, students will each sit on an arrow as they wait to be picked up. Students will leave one arrow empty between groups to keep distance between pods.

Students who are walking or being dismissed to families who park in the neighborhood next door will meet Mrs. Beckel near the water fountain in the pink hallway and be escorted to the crossing guard out of Door #3.

Busses will be called over the intercom (one at a time to provide for social distancing) and students will proceed from their classrooms to the bus door. We are no longer having all bus students line up in the gym. Students will be escorted to the bus.

All of these routines and procedures will be explicitly taught to all students so they fully understand the process.
