The LaPerche Pasta Dinner took place on Friday, January 25 and was a smashing success. All of LaPerche is invited to the event where the fifth graders take care of everything from start to finish.
The students worked as teams to ensure their guests were well taken care of. Each team of students consisted of a host, server and multiple bussers. The students took their roles very seriously, practicing at school to prepare for the big night. They practiced active listening, making eye contact and answering customers questions. The rest of the team gave positive feedback and areas where each needed to grow. The kids were ready for the big night!
Students needed to be prepared to introduce themselves to someone they did not know, communicate within their team the needs of the guests, and work endlessly from setting up the environment, serving the guests and then cleaning up to ensure it was left better than we found it.
The fifth grade students served dinner to over 200 people. Thank you to all of the LaPerche families who came to the event and allowed the kids the opportunity to practice social skills, display teamwork and have the opportunity to serve.
We ended the night with thanking the crowd and raffle winners! What a great night.
